About Climate Change Explorer

Climate Change Explorer brings together young people, artists, educationalists and environmental scientists to develop creative approaches to raising awareness of climate change.

Conceived by Helix Arts, the project works with its partners, the Environmental Change Network, Cumbria Arts in Education, Dowdales School in Cumbria and Mortimer Community College in South Shields to creatively explore the science and the impacts of climate change locally and globally across informal and formal education.

The project has developed:

  • Learning resources through working with a number of artists using filmmaking, visual and performing arts;
  • An interactive website;
  • The opportunity for interaction between young people and climate change scientists.

The website also showcases the artworks created in collaboration with young people, scientists, artists and educationalists and of digital artists Lorraine Berry, Adam Clarke and Pete Rogers.
