Haydon Bridge High School

We are a fully comprehensive co-educational 13 – 18 Comprehensive School with around 750 students on roll (including a thriving Sixth Form). We are also a designated Sports College within the Government’s Specialist Schools Programme, we are the leading school within the Tynedale Schools Sports Co-ordinator initiative and we have received recognition as a Full Service Extended School. The school also has provision for five day boarding at Ridley Hall for those students living in the catchment area but for whom daily travel is just not possible.

There have been additions to and significant refurbishment of the accommodation in recent years including: brand new Child Care Centre in the Haydon Lodge (part of Tynedale Virtual College); refurbished Science Laboratories; Maths rooms; ICT room and Art block.

As a Community / Extended School we aim to provide a range of services and activities often beyond the school day to help meet the needs of our students, their families and the wider community. These include such services as adult learning, childcare, parenting support, ICT access, youth services activities including Connexions and a student drop in/advice centre.
