The POD is one of the delivery mechanism for the climate change explorer project, an arts education science project to raise awareness amongst young people of the effects of climate change.

Pete Rogers creative output is mostly presented through digital media and the POD plays a central role in attempting to deliver high end output to as many individuals without some of the restrictions of the internet. The POD is a high end computer system designed specifically for the tasks in hand, those being to record media and play high quality digital animation, audio and interactive elements.

The POD also attempts to break down some of the usual barriers of presenting information about a specific issue to the wider public. By placing the mobile POD in a variety of public spaces, users can come into contact with information that they might not usually have wanted to look at. As people accidently come into contact with the POD they are able to access information they might usually or even intentionally choose not to see. This grabs the interest of people who might otherwise not be interested or care and hopefully make them want to find out more.
